The following review of Linkumate was written over 2 years ago now and it may now be better or even worse. From the recent research I’ve done on Linkumate it’s seems to be good for Yahoo and Bing rankings. So if that’s your bag, then check it out.

Well as promised here’s my brutally honest review of Linkumate after using it for 6 weeks. I’m always on the lookout for good linking services and when Linkumate was launched, I’ve got to be honest I was a bit dubious after buying into the whole MSN loophole thing and it failing miserably.
However, I thought for $37 a month for 5 sites I’ll give it a shot.
My first impression wasn’t very good to be honest. I applied as soon as it launched and there was quite a few problems getting registered. The servers didn’t hold up very well and I ended up applying twice as I didn’t get any confirmation email. Further to that none of the emails I registered with ended up with accounts that I could login to. So after a few emails backwards and forwards to their support I ended up gaining access.
Inside you get presented with a webpage that asks you to enter your URL, Anchor Text and whether it’s a money site or blog. It looked very basic but hey it’s the links we’re after so I wasn’t too bothered.
So I entered my two test websites URLs etc and then that was it.
The Results!
2 weeks passed by, no extra links appeared.
3 weeks passed by still no links.
4 weeks passed by, still no links.
By this time I thought sod this, so I contacted support and asked why I can’t see any links yet and their reply was that you have to wait 4 weeks for your links to appear. Hmmmm, my first thought was….. Why wasn’t this stated in the sales letter? (ed. I think I already know the answer to that)
Anyway, I thought I’d give it a few more weeks. So at the end of week 6 (yesterday) how many extra links do you think I had………….. a big fat zero.
The Conclusion
So in conclusion I wouldn’t waste your money. You’d be better of going over to the warriorforum and hiring someone to do a link building campaign for you. The forums full of excellent link building services and there’s loads of feedback for them so at least you can see what you’re going to get.
Now I may be wrong about Linkumate and you may well get results but please be prepared to wait and wait and wait…..
Another option that I’ve come across is to join Commission Blueprint’s membership program. This month Tim and Steve from Commission Blueprint, have added a free membership to their new http://www.3waylinkblueprint.com service as part of your Commission Blueprint membership (ed. 3waylinkblueprint.com isn’t available to the public yet by the way).
This has already had some amazing results for its users. I can’t comment yet as I’m literally going to start my first campaign this weekend, but going of feedback from blogs i.e. http://blogwam.com/664 I’m going to give it a try and as ever I’ll report back here with exactly what I think about it.

PS. I just missed the payment date to by 1 day so it’s just cost me another $37 – gutted! On the plus side they said I can use it until 3rd April due to automatically paying for another month, so if anything changes I’ll report back here

It would help if you would tell us what kind of keywords you were using and what was the competition at the time. If you were targeting words like “golf” I am not surprised that you didn’t get anything out of that, but if you were targeting keyword phrases with competition from 5000-200,000 searches, you should have results in 4-6 weeks.

Hi Bob, the problem I had with linkumate was that I didn’t see any results regardless of what keywords I used. For the period of time I tested linkumate I didn’t see my link count increase at all.
Therefore, either the links weren’t being created or they weren’t being cached by the search engines. Not sure which it was really, all i do know is that I didn’t see any results.
This was just my experience though, I might of just been unlucky – cheers.
I’d have to disagree with this review. I’ve been using Linkumate for about 6 months and have had pretty good results, especially in Bing and Yahoo. I also can’t find find many links in Yahoo explorer for my sites, but a substantial number of my sites are ranking on the first page in Bing and Yahoo, and lesser amount on Google, but still a few. If you read their FAQ, it does explain the reasons why you won’t find links. In case you’re interested.. here it is..
QUESTION: How fast and how many links will I find when I check for my sites links in the search engines?
ANSWER: First let me clarify something. If you are basing the success of ANY link campaign on how many links you find in the search engines, you are totally missing the point of a link campaign. There is only one metric that matters in any link campaign, and that is, are your rankings improving? If they are, then your link campaign is working for you, if not, then does it really matter how many links a search engine says you have? Now to answer the question. You are not likely to find many of the Linkumate links in any of the search engines. Why Not? Well the fact is, as stated above, these links are dynamic. They are present in one location one time, and then not there. They can appear anywhere in the network at any time. The fact that they move around so much is both the reason they work as search engines see them as new links, and also the reason why you won’t find many listed in the search engines. And even if you did find them listed in any of the search engines, if you go to that page, your link won’t be there anyway. Again, measure your link campaigns success by actual results, not the number of links a search engine tells shows for your site.

Firstly I did write this review over two years ago so the service might well have changed it that time. My review was based on what I experienced during the 6 weeks that I trialled Linkmate.
I take you’re points on board, however, If you are trialling a link building service and you don’t see your link count increasing wouldn’t you question whether they are building links?
How can you be sure that the increase in your rankings is down to Linkumate if you can’t see anymore links being added? Have you tried to stop using the service and see if your rankings drop off?
I’ve nothing against Linkumate at all, but when I build links for my clients, how can I prove the increase in rankings is down to me if they can’t see there link count going up…? Taking into consideration that I’ve already done the on-page optimisation.

Thanks for your comments anyway. If its working for you then that’s great, as I said I’ve nothing against the service. The review was written based on my experience and my experience only.
Since reading your comments I’ve done some research on Linkumate and people seem to be getting results….from Yahoo and Bing. So if Yahoo and Bing is your thing then this would probably be a good service for you.
