That's a good point Ashwin, you have to be really disciplined with yourself to work from home. As i mentioned in the article though having a designated room is essential to minimise distractions.

I know some people who work on their laptops in front of the tv whilst their better halfs are watching the usual rubbish thats on 24x7 but this just doesn't work.

Your right about an external office, its a place of work and can potentially put you in a completely different mindset. However, there's also a cost tied to that which a lot of small business owners starting out just can't afford.

One of the biggest time wasters for me has been MYSELF. I tend to work from home and that's the biggest problem -- I tend to slack off, watch TV, Sleep, and talk on the phone.

I can't tell you how much that has been costing me!

I would suggest investing in an office -- however expensive that might seem. You just can't slack off when you pay for the rent and utilities. Moreover, there isn't a TV to watch or a couch/bed to sleep on.
