Hi Bob, the problem I had with linkumate was that I didn’t see any results regardless of what keywords I used. For the period of time I tested linkumate I didn’t see my link count increase at all.

Therefore, either the links weren’t being created or they weren’t being cached by the search engines. Not sure which it was really, all i do know is that I didn’t see any results.

This was just my experience though, I might of just been unlucky – cheers.

It would help if you would tell us what kind of keywords you were using and what was the competition at the time. If you were targeting words like “golf” I am not surprised that you didn’t get anything out of that, but if you were targeting keyword phrases with competition from 5000-200,000 searches, you should have results in 4-6 weeks.

That’s a good point Ashwin, you have to be really disciplined with yourself to work from home. As i mentioned in the article though having a designated room is essential to minimise distractions.

I know some people who work on their laptops in front of the tv whilst their better halfs are watching the usual rubbish thats on 24×7 but this just doesn’t work.

Your right about an external office, its a place of work and can potentially put you in a completely different mindset. However, there’s also a cost tied to that which a lot of small business owners starting out just can’t afford.

One of the biggest time wasters for me has been MYSELF. I tend to work from home and that’s the biggest problem — I tend to slack off, watch TV, Sleep, and talk on the phone.

I can’t tell you how much that has been costing me!

I would suggest investing in an office — however expensive that might seem. You just can’t slack off when you pay for the rent and utilities. Moreover, there isn’t a TV to watch or a couch/bed to sleep on.
